Default Hawkeye performance advice needed

Hi, need some advice.

I have a wrx hawkeye and would like too get some more power.

The only performance mods so far are, afterburner back box and centre section. I had these done at Scoobyworld.

I would like to get a remap done. Scoobyworld have said I need to decat the down pipe and also replace the up pipe. They say replace the up pipe just in case the cat fails and damages the turbo - ecutek recommend this to them as they have a few cases like this on wrx's. This cost over £600.

I can afford a remap and down pipe - Can I put a gauze with clip over the turbo spool (sorry if that sounds completely stupid - I saw something similar in a mag)

Advice please

I didnt think the Hawkeye had a cat in the up pipe?

I have got 3" turbo back exhaust with sports cat, green panel filter, ECUTEK by JGM and it is 278bhp and 345lb/ft of torque.

i dont know mate - thats what i've been told. sound interesting that you've changed the cat pipe to sports cat - didn't think of decatting that rather than the down pipe

how much did your ecutek cost and would you recommend JGM?

there is no cat in the uppipe on the hawkeye.

you would gain most by changing the downpipe and then remap.

I'd sort the brakes before you up the power.

But once that is done, as has been said take a look at the Andy Forrest website.

would an upgrade in pads be enough, do I need to even go down the disc's path?
