Jon,

You'll need a press for the bushes, but not for the ball joints as they are held into the hub by a pinch bolt (nice and easy to change)

If you are getting a set of alloy arms to replace your steel items, then you will need to make sure that they come complete with a pair of cone inserts to fit to the ball joints.

Alloy arms have a much larger hole in them for the location of the ball joint, so you need the inserts to bring the hole size back to the same size as the steel ones.

Will be rusted to hell so give them a good soaking with penetrating spray. You may find it easier to keep the balljoint nut attached so that you can level the balljoint out of the hub while still fixed to the wishbone.

Once that is free, re-do it up and undo the nut and lever the wishbone off the ball joint.

You will struggle like hell the other way.
