happy new year everyone just a quickie this! ive always run my ej20 on 10w40 and just wondered if they can use any thicker oil during the winter? as im gna oil change 2day

Thicker isnt recommended during winter as it takes more time to warm up, so 10w40 is perfect

As above, dont go thicker during the winter. The oil will not flow as well from cold )depending on the first number) and if the oil isnt getting hot enough wont flow as well hot.

thanks for the info ive never quite really understood oil and thickness etc. any recommendation on which brand is best?

Ther world is your oyster, there is loads of good ones.

We find the best and most popular are the ester based synthetics, Silkolene PRo S, Motul 300v, Redline, Millers CFS and Gulf Comp Opie Oils - Ester Synthetic

Not cheap mnd.
