Default MY05 STI - steam from in front of intercooler

Pootling around in this cold weather I've noticed the occasional cloud of steam coming out of the intercooler vent. On lifting the bonnet it appears to be coming from just in front of and underneath the intercooler. Water and oil temperatures are running at normal.

The i/c water spray is currently turned off.

Any ideas please?

It could be one of the pipes that feeds coolant to and from the throttle body. You will need to take the IC off to check I am afraid but that is only a 10 min job at most.

I had the same issue yesterday but I'm just putting it down to all the snowflakes eaten by the larger scoop, condensing then evaporating..
