piggyback ecu, not worth doing when there is replacement aftermarket ecus or the standard ecu is mappable, depending on year of car.

had a quick look on their website and so little info on there I assumed it was piggyback.

I would assume it is not going to work as well as others but does it use the maf or is it map based?

Used AEM on a couple of cars but not imprezas.
There are a number of companies selling AEM stuff as if they are AEM when they are not.. got stung with an ecu for skyline, not enough igntion outputs.. it was for a 4cylinder rather than 6cylinder when it turned up.. and the company stopped answering emails and phonecalls as soon as it was delivered.

It is known as re-inventing the wheel. Stick with what has been proven over the years to work - ESL, Simtec & Power FC (and Solaris, but I don't know much about them!!), or Ecutek re-maps.

Best sell your 3d on and put the money towards an ecu more aimed at a Subaru with the knowledge from experienced mappers, like JGM above, can provide.

looking through the instruction manual when going through the settings there is one there for the subaru flat 4 so it has been designed so that it can be used on it. given the fact that i have it here sitting i am going to use it.

just wondering why you recon its less powerful than than the oe ecu

no i am a mechanical technician so the actual fitting of it wont be a problem but the actual setting up will be either andy forrest or dastek (dastek only 20 min away)

really just wondering what differences there are once the car ecu has been changed to 3d on these engines (know my way round a vauxhall let better)

you don't seem to be understanding it.. there is a reason it is not being used by mappers of subarus already.. it is not as good as other stuff available including the original ecu.. ring and ask them but I suspect they won't touch it.
