tyres tyres tyres
hey folks found a nice looking set of tires for my 2003 blobeye
they are Yokohama Advan Sport V103S 225/40 R18 Y (88) (to fit my prodrive alloys)
I am just wondering since they are 88Y (560 KG per tyre) 189 MPH would this be sufficient enough to do track days as well as normal driving
they have been given good write ups
any help would be much appreciated
steve

are yoko not a softish compound. would track days not scrub the tyres enough to make the unuseable for road. have you thought about a dedicated set of race wheels with pure track tyres on them?

i asked about these some time ago and got good reviews.hence a set sits in the garage ready for spring.as for the speed rating thats more than enough unless you are olly clarke lol and ive been told the weight limit is fine too.560 kg per corner would suit a 2 tonne car!! if im not mistaken.good sidewalls also.

I use the RE 070 tyres on road and track they are awsome on the track and great on the road mate, think there about £105 each for a 225 45 17 from camskill , get yourself a cheap set of standard sti alloys and save your 18s , the tyres are cheaper.
