Question IS AUTO TRANSMISSION FLUID THE SAME AS POWER STEERING FLUID.

The reason i ask is i need to refill my steering as ive just fitted a quick rack from a spec c and all my local service stations only sell auto tranmission fluid and i didnt want to travel 40 mile round trip to halfords. Any advice would be appreciated.

You can use automatic transmission fluid in your power steering, but make sure it is a or Dexron III type or higher automatic transmission fluid. This applies to classics - not to sure about newage.I would imagine it would be the same ,but if not someone will reply to say otherwise.
