Default Cometic 051" or 060"

Merry Christmas to all.Having purchased the items required for my forged EJ20 short block i am now in need of the final piece, that being a suitable cometic head gasket(93mm oversized CP pistons, slight head skim,GT35r turbo). So what thickness do i go for, realise it depends on how much boost is sought but what difference would there be between the 051" 060"(040" too thin),pressume off boost nothing notable. Thanks

Depends on the compression height of the pistons, volume of the piston bowl, block height (have the block halfs been skimmed in the past) and combustion chamber volume after the heads have been skimmed.

I would be inclined to do a dry build to see where the pistons sit in relation to the deck face and volume the combustion chambers - you can then work out your static compression ratio and quench using each thickness of gasket in your calcs to suit your type of use for the engine.

Have a good Christmas too

Mick
