Default Dodgy Dump Valve? Help :(

Hi Guys,
Over the last couple of weeks my 2000 turbo has been a nightmare to drive when cold. Idle is irractic jumping around and nearly stalling and I can hear a hiss coming from my HKS dump valve even when I'm just cruising and it smells like it's running rich and yes my fuel consumption is bad lol.
Trying to cruise in a 30mph is near on impossible as it just hesitates and misses and when I stick my foot down it just holds back. What could it be? Would a dodgy dump valve cause these symtoms?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Firstly i would check all of your hoses to see if any are cracked or perished,or even come loose. If there ok if you still have your standard recirc valve ,try fitting that back on and see if it makes any difference,if you dont have your standard oe valve, then there should be someone who lives near you who would be prepaired to help a lady out.
What model year car is it, as someone on this site might have more detailed information to help you to solve your problem.

Also how does the car run when its at normal operating temperature.

Thanks Midnight for getting back to me It's a 98 2000 AWD Turbo Wagon and yes it's fine once it reaches operating temp. The dump valve usually stops hissing at that point also.
Yeah I'll check me hoses and I'm pretty sure I've still got the original dump valve so I'll stick that back on and see if that resolves the issue.
Loving the snow in my scooby! 4 wheel drive is awesome lol
Thanks again

I don't think I'd have any other car after owning a scooby. It's so funny watching people getting stuck going up hills ha

Morning,

Put the standard recirc dump valve back on and still it hasn't alleviated the problem. It sounds like the valve is staying ever so slightly open no matter whether it's the aftermarket HKS one or the standard recirc one. Could there be too much vacum being created? Now that I've managed to eliminate the dump valve side of things, I'm somewhat stumped as to what the problem could be.

Can't see both DV's being u/s but it is poss

I would be checking 'all' vac and boost pipes for splits/cracks or insecure connections
