Default Japspeed Versus Milltek

Hi,

I am considering taking my standard non-PPP bug eye WRX for a remap and new exhaust system.

I am considering going to Power Engineering in Uxbridge to get this done. They are offering either a Japspeed sports cat system or the Milltek equivalent. Milltek is a lot more money.

Is there a big difference between the Japseed and Milltek?
Would any of you be able to comment about Power Engineering?

Cheers for any advice
Nick.

Miltek is a much better exhaust (quality and fit wise) but have mapped a few cars with japspeed on now and they work well enough IMO.

Hi dynamix,

Thanks for your comments.

The cost difference between the Japspeed mod package and the Milltek is £500, is the difference worth it?

What do people think?

Cheers,
Nick.

If you get the full japspeed system I dont think the difference in cost is worth it but a full miltek 3 inch system is only £650 ish iirc from Alyn at ASP ... so unless the japspeed is £150 I would be suprised if the difference was £500

If he goes for a Turbo back and wants a sports cat I bet it is,
I also have to say that the miltek back box/tail pipe isnt the best finish, a lot of weld splats which other back boxes dont seem to have,
See if you can get into a place that sells a few and have a good look at the difference for yourself before you buy,
Powerwise I cant see there being much difference between them unless as said you went for a 3 inch Miltek.

oops sorry forgot about the sports cat side of things. The miltek sports cat is expensive i think.

Japspeed will help give good results.

Correct I do need a sports cat and that probably explains the £500 price difference, I can't be dealing with taking on and off exhausts for the MOT.

Thanks for all the comments, I am newbie on Scooby exhausts, so a good list of good options would be great.

Cheers,
Nick.
