Default Cold Weather and Over Boost

This might seem stupid, but how do you tell if your car is over boosting?

My car got mapped when it was nice and hot, and it is now in the minus out there.

Instead of my peak boost being 1.6bar, would it go to say 1.7bar?

Or do things happen all through the rev range? I've got an AVCR so will turn the Duty Cycle down, but aren't too sure how much by or what to look out for really?

The OEM ECU will reduce WGDC automatically in the colder weather, you may find you need to do the same on the AVCR, keep an eye out on the peak boost. Not that you can get much of a run up in the snow!

Yeah that true, lol.

Again, another stupid question....but before peak boost...I.e getting from 0-70mph through the gears, does the cold weather effect anything then, or just when gunning it and hitting peak boost?

Overboost and quicker spool is the main thing you need to look at, the ECU will take care of anything else with various IAT comp. tables. For reference the stock ECU looks to pull between 5-15% in these conditions, i.e 0 to -5 or there abouts. Just keep an eye on any overboost, a little bit isn't too concerning. You could always use your A & B settings to have a summer boost map and a winter boost map if you like to tinker.

Yeah, I do want to tinker with the B setting.......as I've never used it, but I don't really know what I'm doing.

First you need to accertain if you are overboosting. If you are then mirror the A and B settings then just drop the WGDC % by 1 or 2 on B then check your boost, rinse repeat until you are hitting the target.
