Hi

I have a knocking/clangy kinda noise coming from my drivers side front when i accelerate out of a junction or hard round a roundabout.

It basically sounds like a knock, knock, knock, knock until i either let off the gas or straighten up. It doesnt do it if I accelerate lightly or in a straight line. Its mainly when i pull away at a junction or if im going round a roundabout and then start to accerlate and steer hard.

Any ideas?

Most likely to be the outboard CV joint, so rule that in/out before looking elsewhere. Start by checking whether the boot has split.

How old is your car btw?

Its a 2001 Bugeye.

I will see if I can get that checked soon then, are these expensive?

I assumed it wasn't anything like the drive shaft as its fine in a straight line.

I do however have to get the power steering fixed as I think there is some play in the rack and also the pump may be on its way out as it can sometimes be very lumpy when dry steering, could that be related?
