ECU FAULT CODE 45 PRESSURE SWITCH ?

Default ECU FAULT CODE 45 PRESSURE SWITCH ?

hi , just done ecu fault code test on a 95 wrx import , it came up with code 45 , pressure switch . question is what is this ? where is it ? what does it do ? thanks in advance for answers .

Drivers side suspension turret

Code 45 can be the MAP sensor or the pressure source change solenoid - which is the brown cylinder at the top of your pic. Or it can be caused by a wiring fault somewhere between these two and the ECU.

thanks for that , pics are always best . what do they do , or what faults would they bring ?
i do have an itermittent starting fault , when turn key ,nothing just a click . several attempts then starts , or it can go days with no fault . is this anything to do with it , or a totally different issue

If either is wrong the ECU will be unable to measure atmospheric, manifold absolute (and hence) boost pressure. I'm sure you can already work out why that's not good.

Nothing at all to do with your error 45. Sounds like you have a sticking starter solenoid or a dying motor.
