Default Fuel Confusion

After two classic wagons (my99 and my00) I have had to succumb to the dark side and move up to a Forester 2.0 XT to fit the kids junk in.

Its on a 54 plate and when I test drove it the nice man from the Subaru dealership said it runs on normal unleaded (by normal I mean 95 ron)

Is this correct?

Yes those can run perfectly happily on 95 ron fuel, though you can also benefit from running on 97-99 ron fuel with better fuel economy and smoother power delivery, it sort of equals itself out in the cost

I have a 54 2.0xt and was told specificly to use 95 (and it says on the fuel door as well), it runs great with no problems (and yes I can tell the difference as I run a P1 with switchable maps too)

Great choice of motor by the way, way better than an MPV !!!
