Hi there,

Had a good run of hassel free motoring with my '98 sti and after a bit of a blast the other night I've picked up a thumping sound from around the front passenger side, around the wheel area. When I press the brake pedal slightly it goes away, but the sound varies with speed and disappears the faster you go - really odd, never had this before. The disc's are good quality and look ok, but I've yet to take a proper, closer look at them. Something to do with the caliper? Any ideas? Sounds like something is catching and is really annoying!! Be good to know if anyone has had smililar problems before I take her in to get it sorted.

sorry this may sound silly but have u checked the pads. my old wrx had a tickin sound, went 2 my local dealer who changed my pads and all was well.

Thanks, sort of what Im hoping, haven't had a chance to deal with it yet - scarey when ya get a sudden noise! Pads aren't that old.. But they have gotten a lot of grief!

Haven't the time to look at it myself so will take it in today..
