Default strange loss of boost

Hi all got a 95 wrx import it runs .9psi boost normaly but lately in top gear it will boost to .9psi and then it feels like l loose power and the boost drops to .5psi as if in limp mod but it still revs ok, no fault code shows when read but if l do an ecu reset boost returns to .9psi and stays until l try the boost in top gear and the same happens again.

Any ideas as l'm out of them ?????

First steps would be to check 'all' the boost/vac hoses for cracks/splits/security the give the BCS a good dowsing of brake/clutch cleaner

Let us know how you get on

will check that later l do have a spare selinoid assembly ready to fit because the one on the cars a bit shabby looking so l got another and recond it might change it and replace the pipes at the same time but l will keep the pill. If the rain holds off for a bit

Right cleaned out boost control unit tested no differant .5psi boost did a ecu reset and it boosted to .9psi when in top gear boosted to .9psi then lost power and boost dropped to .5psi, continued driveing and then pushed till it reached .5psi but this time held the gas down after around 10 seconds the boost went to .9 psi and worked fine again.
could this be something sticking like the actuator or the boost selinoid maybe any ideas.

Try the other BCS, if you get the same result then it could be the ECU detecting knock or simlar, just seems strange that it boosts ok after reset

By the way it's 0.5, 0.9 'bar' i assume, not 'psi'

Yeh your right l mean bar i'll try the other BCS when the weather gives me chance if the ecu read knock from the senser would it give a fault code for this. The fact that boost returns if l hold the gas down just made me think its something stickin ?
If it was knock would the boost be intermitent?

I've got more questions that answers at the mo.

No, no fault code for knock (hence the use of det cans ect) only a code for the 'knock sensor' failing.

It's the intermitence that is confusing me

Try the other BCS
