Default New STI hatch front brakes

What are these like compared to the gold brembo of old?

Ive heard rumours that they are only as good as the wrx 4 pots found on previous models.

Anyone had experience of both? running the new sti brembo front brakes?

Cheers in advance

I had theses fitted to my old bugeye & i cant say a bad thing about them & it was like night & day when i changed from the wrx 4 pots.

Sadly the rears didnt fit but i was more than happy with the fronts.

In fact i have a Hawkeye STI PPP now & i think the 2008 black brembo is better than the older model.

They looked the nuts mate.

There is a front set on ebay at moment for £500 and was thinking of going for them

Just bought some front and rears(gold) for £550 with discs and pads.

The black and gold front brembo calipers are the same , just different colours , the rears are different , but use the same pad as the gold ones so would work no better than the gold ones , the black rears dont fit the earlier cars like the gold ones do

I got mine last year front and rears calipers, discs and pads on ebay for £550 and paid another £50 to get the front discs redrilled to suit the 100pcd of the bugeye.

Sold the rear calipers alone on ebay for £350.
