injectors or timing belt
How do you check if your injectors are working as they should be the reason i ask is i bought a wrx wagon two weeks ago with the cam belt snaped the guy said it had hit the valves on no1 cylinder ? change the belt sems like its running three cylinders so did a compresion test was abit low on one cylinder so changed the head but its still runs ruff if you pull the injector off doesent make any differance..

Might sound like a joke, but give the injector cap (the injector cover which secures it to the fuel rail) a smack with a spanner (Make sure the injector is fully installed). Sometimes after lack of use they sieze up, always works for me.
The snapping belt would not have had any detremental affects on the injectors themselves mate.

Yes it will run very ruff without water as the Coolant sensor transmits back to the ECU on these the temp gauge sensor is independent and sits next to the coolant sensor on the crossover pipe (The coolant sensor is the brown sensor on the water crossover pipe which carries water from one side of the block to the other under the inlet manifold)
I would definitely run a compression test on it though mate as soon as possible.

Well you see this is the thing, the subaru engine is a non-interference engine (i.e. valves and pistons) therefore it shouldn't have. What were the issues with the head? did you have a look? It should be noted that the inlet and exhaust valves can touch and bend themselves on collision with each other.
I mean if the car was timed incorrectly then there is a possibility of there being interference and the piston being damaged. The same will apply if the heads or block have been skimmed and the correct Head Gasket not installed.

All fixed now there was something wrong with the head think it was the inlet valves on no 1 piston but all so had two broken wires to the coil packs 1 and 3 so in the end there was nothing wrong with the injectors
