Default engine check light

hi the engine check light on my 1995 wrx has just started flashing, any ideas? cheers

Scoobypedia | Trusted knowledge for everything Subaru | Knowledge / Reading ECU Fault Codes
with it being a classic you can read the message yourself, quite simple if you're patient enough. Did it myself and needed a new knock sensor, quick fix. if the link doesn't work let me know.

could be knock sensor ? av a look under ya steering cowling for two black conectors,conect them together and count the blinks : long blinks are tens and the short ones are units, i think 22 is the knock sensor code,i have this problem and just waiting for the part,ive been told it not too bad to do yaself,so best of luck fella

ok cheers, asuming it is the knock senor, can i still drive the car

I drove mine for a couple of weeks before I replaced it, easy job btw just one nut. As far as I'm aware won't do any immediate damage. Mine just drove like sh**e and gave poor mpg.

iv been having trouble with mine did the fault code thing with the wires and it just blinks on and of all the time
