Default Check Engine Light

Changed my battery on my '03 WRX PPP about a week ago. Noticed a day or two after that the 'low fuel' light came on intermittently even with a full tank. Then, yesterday the Check Engine Light has come on. I reset the ECU this morning and took it for a spin and the light stayed off. Took the car out half an hour later and it came back on after a mile or so. Any ideas?

Car's been in the garage and they say it's a dodgy fuel gauge sensor that's causing the CEL light to remain on - does this sound right?

Not having much joy on this topic!

Error code: PO462. Would this send the CEL light on?

It's listed here so the CEL seems to be doing it's job.
