Post Anyone know about fuel injectors?

I'm thinking of upgrading my TD04 to a VF35, and obviously need uprated fuel injectors.

What's the deal with the different sizes I'm seeing quoted (505 / 550 / 565 / 600 / 800)? Is bigger better, end of? Or does it all depend on application and what else is on the car?

Anyone know what the best size / make to go for on my '05 WRX would be if getting paired to a VF35 and looking for around 330bhp tops? The ones being suggested by my local garage are STI pinks (505cc).

Appreciate the help!

Im interested in seeing the response to this. My listing i have just put up 15mins ago is in the simular context to yours, ie Injectors, Turbo, Intercooler, Decat full system:

So no particular benefit from going for a larger size then?

The car is a UK WRX, '05 plate. It has a stainless steel exhaust system with decat up-pipe and ninja sports cat downpipe, Afterburner panel filter and remap. Previous owner put a Walbro 255 fuel pump on as well. Recently dyno'd at 278bhp. I'm looking to go for a VF35, uprated top mount intercooler and fuel injectors, which after another remap should (I'm told) see up to 330/330.

Hope that helps with what I'd need from the injectors?

Pinks from an STI (505cc or some say 565?) will get you close to 400 bhp, (I had to up the fuel pressure to 4 bar ) just to make sure. So fine for you, bigger isn't better as the ecu has a limit to the amount it can compensate for, IIRC around 20% bigger is usually o.k.

But you will be mapping anyway...

HTH

OK, so no need to go for the bigger stuff by the look of it then. Cheers.

I have 06wrx 2.5 injectors that im told are 560cc ish, good for up to 400bhp
I couldnt find sti pinks at the time so these came up at a tidy price so grabbed them, just another option for you.
Im running a similar setup ninja sport cat dp, decat etc with the vf35 on MY05 wrx plus a front mount and Harvey ported headers + uppipe and Bob Rawle mapped it to 333bhp/329lbf. is nice and quick now.

How are you finding the car for everyday driveability Nolan?

I'm looking to go for the VF35 over a VF34 as I'm not after huge top end power and would rather have rapid spool-up. Would be interested to know what you think of the power delivery on the road?

Is there a link or information to hand somewhere that can give a comparison to each turbo available or at least a good selection? Im in the same bought as Baron but as with every forum everyone has a slightly different opinion. Im also after quick spool ie 0-60 or 0-100mph. Thanks Rob

That was what i wanted from my car aswell nice low down torque and driveability, its great to drive as i use it everyday to go to work it just warms up as i get to work so all off boost driving and its great.
It hits full boost at about 3200 ish and pulls al the way to the redline, it eats 1st and 2nd so 60 comes up really quick! gets to about 105 in 3rd and its gets there very fast so am really pleased with it, the only comparisons i have though are the td04 and a vf28 the vf35 out paces them both and still gives nice spool up.
