import

rear window wash/wipe
electric folding mirrors
eletric aerial on the rear quarter panel
no fog light or an aftermarket fog light and or switch
no headlight washers in the front bumper
japanese stickers ie parking permits maybe
registration document will say something like yr 1996 1st registered 2005 (if when imported)
no underseal
rev counter/mph dial differnt way round

uk model

no wash/wipe at rear
front bumper headlight washers
aerial in the a pillar
factory fitted foglight/switch
underseal
clocks have the rev counter/mph dial other way round
uk model has these rear arch covers where it meets the sideskirt to protect bottom of arch

but then some of these things on either could of been added/taken away so they are only guidelines really

Not sure there are 2 many differences from a uk 1996 engine and an import 1996 wrx engine,to look at externally anyway, the uk car has a 7D ECU wheras the wrx has a Z4 if its a saloon wrx,but again, things can be changed.

some uk cars didnt have aircon,uk cars had abs sometimes, dont think a 96 wrx has abs

my one has both air con and abs it is just a turbo not a wrx on the log book but i think that it is a import engine but just trying to work out if it is. When i went to subaru they could not find my car by reg only by the vin number? i also have a td05h turbo on it is that standard or? would the dt05h stand for hybrid? thanks

never heard of a TD05H turbo, just the TD05 which is standard on the saloon.

The other way you could check is a uk has 2 CATS, 1 in the downpipe and also one in the mid section, the imports DONT, they only have a CAT in the downpipe

does it have any of the import features or uk features i listed above, fog lights ??

td05H is the standard turbo.

think it refers to the inducer/exducer size (i may be mistaken though)
