V3/4 intercooler onto a V2???
Folks,
has anyone fitted a V3/4 intercooler to a V1/2 (slanted intercooler)?
Im thinking of doing this as a cheap upgrade for my V2 sti 555.
I know the oem dumpvalve is is two different locations on the two intercoolers but ive got a few bits of samco lying around
I know ill need the appropriate intercooler undertray too.
I know there are guides on here for fitting newage intercoolers to V3/4 classics but I can't find anything for fitting V3/4 intercoolers onto V1/2
Cheers

I fitted a V4 STi to my early wrx ra track car. I later fitted a FMIC to it but I thought I'd try the V4 one first since I had one in the garage.
You do need the undertray, plus a samco hose kit TSC22.
The problem using a V3 or V4 intercooler is you need to weld up the original BOV port on the front of it. Easier option is the later 1999 on ones where the BOV bolts on. You then make up a blanking plate and bolt it on - saves trying to weld it.
Saw a test a while back (maybe on here) where a 2.5 WRX intercooler had the same flow volume as the V3/4 STi intercooler. But they are a lot cheaper to buy, and probably in better condition.
