Air temp sensor for going speed density..
I'm looking for an air temp sensor so I can convert my car to speed density. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I was looking at something like this: Ford Cosworth Air Temp Sensor. Sierra Escort (ATS) on eBay (end time 27-Nov-09 11:17:48 GMT)
Do you think it will be accurate enough?
Cheers

Need to know what ECU you are using to select the right sensor.
The sensor will need a particular feed voltage and will give a certain signal range in response to the temp. Get this mismatched to the ECU could be expensive.
Also try and use a sensor with a fast response rate.
e.g Sensors
BTW, trying to buy this sensor seems to show its free?

Thanks for the info, i'll contact them and see how much they want for it
The ECU I will be using is an Adaptronic E420c (.:AdapTronic:.)
My plan is to do a temp sweep and monitor the resistance with a multimeter. I can then use a formula found the ECU documentation to calculate what the ADC value should be. I will then input these values into a calibration chart to calibrate the sensor. Does that sound logical or do I need to ensure the sensor's resistance is in a certain range?

Looks like there's some info here on sensor responses:
Recommend a IAT sensor. **with solution**
Bug in the Aux Temp ADC Table?

Oh yes that first thread was very usful. So it looks like the SimTek sensor should do it. I did try giving them a call but they weren't in today. I'll try again monday
