None of the above, you should put your money into the brakes first, at 380bhp your car wont stop very well with the subaru 4 pots no matter what pads and discs you have on there, you need to upgrade as the 4 pots are crap with 215bhp let alone 380bhp, some good deals going on at the moment in the group buy area, I would consider those or the Prodrive Alcon brakes at 1k for the 330mm set.

Perrsonally not a fan of EBC brakes.

Have a look here
AS Performance - Rally Motorsport Specialists or High Performance Brakes - Supplying AP and Brembo brake kits for road and motorsport use (or pm Ian Godney for prices)

well my classic is 360bhp and has subaru 4pots with some discs and pads from bob5 and stops just fine thanks.
the subaru 4pot caliper is good with the right disc and pad combo
speak to bob at Aztec Performance Ltd about discs and pads

I take it you have never tried real brakes then?
Pretty much everyone will tell you that the subaru 4 pots suck, and they do, even with better discs/pads, damn my astra has better brakes than my first scoob did, until I replaced them with some decent brembo 4 pots with AP discs and mintex 1144 pads, that stopped probably far better than your 360bhp classic does!

Its not about following the herd its just about having the right modifications for the power of the car, and really 294mm discs are not very suitable for 300+bhp (my astra has 300mm discs as standard and is 120ps, work that one out )

this one could go on all night like the other 4 pages of posts about brakes.
the guy has'nt the money for a big brake upgrade

all he can do is buy a good set of discs and pads and get on with it.

my brakes are fine for my needs at the mo, i dont use it for any kind of motorsport just the everyday driver

It all comes down to how you drive....

For me 4 pots on the STI RA are fine as they will lock up very easily with std 294mm discs and Mintex 1144 pads, even from high speed decelerations. god know what they'd be like with AP 6 pots or some equivalent way too much for a non abs car..

However on my P1 from a few years ago the std 4 pot / mintex pads set up was awful at best and diabolical at worst. never could stop with them with confidence and the fade was terrible at times.
So the solution - 330mm discs, AP 6 pots and mintex pads. Cost £1,500.00 at the time and was by far the best ever mod you can do to an Impreza.

380bhp & a standard set up, leave it alone, a pad and disc upgrade will be of minimal improvement - save your money until you can buy a big brake set up. until then i recommend you drive very cautiously.

Unitl you have proper brake set up you really won't appreciate how big the gap is in terms of performance - its massive. get saving... christmas ain't that far away

just my 2 peneth speaking from experience.

Cheers
Rob
