Question Steering question...

52 Plate WRX...

Is it normal to feel every bump in the road through the steering. Every time i go over rough ground or drain covers etc it pulls the steering wheel left and right is it normal on an impreza?
The steering in general is incredibly responsive and there no play in the wheel or knocks and rattles anywhere so im assuming everything's as it should be, am i just not used to a responsive car?

if the wheel actually turns when it does this then it should be ok. In mine the wheels follow little ruts or dips in the road but there is play in the steering somewhere so it doesn't really move the steering wheel - I suspect in my case the rack ends/track rods are worn, but if yours doesn't feel like that then it's probably fine. A good thing would be to get a proper, 4 wheel allignment done to make sure the geometry of the wheels is correct.

Steering might feel "too" responsive after other cars. Plus low profile tires, tighter anti-roll bars or incorrect alignment might make a car hold straight line worse.
