Default are STI engine plug pinouts different from WRX? Engine loom

Hi im wondering if the engine bay plug pinouts are different on the MY99 wrx to STI. Im having trouble starting the car, not getting all the dash lights come up etc. i have a jdm STI my99 wiring harness and computer, connecting to a Normal WRX MY99 engine harness and engine.

if its of any help they are on the v4 clocks which are similar to yours.

this is easily fixed, the plug that you use to put into the clock is a short lead from the main loom, you need to swap this for the sti one so the pin outs match up.

Not quite sure what you mean? the clock is part of the cluster and is going fine. When i turn the ignition to on, i only get oil and abs lights. No handbrake lamp, no check engine lamp. I need to find out if the pinouts for the main engine plugs (connectors inside the engine bay, next to battery) are the same or different between STI and WRX 99's. What short lead are you referring to? what does it do?
cheers

sorry have just re-read you post, thought your issue was the instrument cluster having moved to different clocks.
