hi people the steering rack has gone on my 1996 impreza,i am going too change it.I have bought the part but i am in too minds how 2 tackle it.can anyone give me sum advice thanks people.

 

just do it mate. I was in same position. Jack the car up. rip off the 4 bolts blocking the rack in. Undo the pipes off the track. undo the UJ, then undo the 4 bolts where the rack bushes are and pull it off. track rod end are easy to drop off to.

It was much easier than i thought it would be. 2 people really helps tho!

Sorry to play dumb but where did you get the JDM steering rack from? I can't seem to find anyone who will suply it for love nor money. It is refurbed/new/used?

Classic JDM quick racks are like rocking horse ****, you cannot get them at all the wrx ones are bog standard ones and then the STI's normally have the fast rack's, the same as on the P1.
