Judging by the welds, its not going to be high quality.
+1 for the proper STI IC.

The one in the picture wont fit a 99 -01 car anyway unless you buy a bov from a new age car ,classic bov are slightly different shape . Better off going for a classic sti tmic which will flow a bit more air than your standard or as mentioned above go for an st1 8,which will allow a load more air into your turbo

V.8 STi TMIC is good for well over +400bhp, extensively documented and proven. It's better than the majority of aftermarket TMIC's with only 1 or 2 very expensive exceptions that are larger and extremely well made, and better than some aftermarket mass produced FMIC's.

Buy one & try it. Reckon you will get better results with a newage sti intercooler or a Hybrid FMIC. lololololol

Pop an STi V7,8 or 9 intercooler on a classic and it will do a fabulous job.

Fit a FMIC on it mate, decent kits that come with Mikolar clamps and good quality coolers can be had for around £200 or so and WILL out perform any top mount cooler available.

Hi,
I have a Hyperflow TMIC on my version 3 type R. Its about the size of the one shown in the link but the build quality seems much better.
Performance wise i have not had a problem at all. Works very well indeed. I could definitely feel the difference when i changed from the OE one.

Both the same under the skin, just different cosmetics but mechanically almost identical.

The STi8 TMIC is a fair bit bigger. So much so that the bulkhead usually needs a good hammering (+brackets, undertray, clutch res, d/v etc).
