Default MOD's required for 400bhp on standard engine

Just wondered what mobs are needed for 400bhp on a 1994 wrx import.
Want to make a list of all the part required so i can start buying them, the car is moded already just want to see how far off is it, mob wise.

The two main things you will need is a new engine and a stronger box

On a 15 year old car? Forget it.

As above, you're looking at replacing the engine and gearbox.

Oh and then there's the brakes (there is no cheap way of doing this properly, trust me) and the suspension to consider!

Engine, gearbox (ppg or 6 speed), seriously uprated clutch, AP's for the braking (so thats about 7k so far ) and there will be more to add to that lot too....
At 7k your looking at new age STI money, know where my cash would go, and its not on the wrx

As said above get a newage sti already has the 6 speed, top mount and brembos for that power level. Then sort the fuelling and upgrade the turbo then remap and you should be at that power level.

or you could just aim for around the 350 mark and you wont fall too far behind 400bhp newages!

If you really want 400bhp the easiest & cheapest way is to buy a newage STi.

Expect to pay £12k-15k for engine, turbo, ecu, gearbox, brakes and suspension upgrades for it to be reliable. If you want a quick way, stick a big turbo on it, remap, there you go.

As above, why not stick to 350bhp(ish)

A 350bhp classic will give a 400bhp newage a good run

There you go, this man knows.

I'm guessing, 440's, TD05, all usual supporting mods and you'd see near 350, I'd have thought.

I'll second the above from Moley WRX... we were pushing a newage with 420bhp around Oulton Park yesterday with our 354bhp Classic!

It's all about power/tonne... however we have spent itro 7-8k not including the car to get it to where it is today!

Not a cheap game... but a fun one!!

Thanks for all the replys, they are great. i think i will settle with 350bhp, as the car currently has 320bhp, with these mods: fmic, 550cc injectors, high flow fuel pump, apexi power fc, full decat 3" exhaust, water injection, fpr, Parallel Fuel mod, TD05 18g, induction kit. I think i will save my money and stick with what i have got and when i am ready ill go for a newer 6speed sti. Thanks

i was thinking that too you could make that power on a 16g and 440's

I suggest you go to a different mapper you could extract more with that set up m8

We're running 354bhp & 310lbs/ft with a VF28, FMIC, 440's @1.5bar on standard internals... and we're looking to upgrade to what you have got, the TD05 18G, you should be getting more like 370-380bhp if set up correctly.

2.3 Ev* will make 400+ for pennies....

Compared to a WRX.
