Silly FMIC pipe question for the techies
Been looking at FMIC's and notice that the pipe work on all of them is stainless steel, is there a reason that the pipe work couldn't or shouldn't be made from alloy pipe?
Just thinking that alloy piping would take much more heat in the engine bay to get it hot and therefore wouldn't transfer the heat to the intake air whereas the stainless would tend to get hot and hold the heat which would inturn heat the intake air.
Am i wrong on this one or are there other reasons Alloy isn't used i.e would it not be strong enough?
