FMIC (£350), De-cat (£100), Polar Performance chip (£200) & a Dawes device (£50). Fit it all then get it set up on a rolling road. Mine made 303bhp and 290 ft/lbs @1.1 bar (1995 WRX). You could go down the aftermarket ECU route, but is it worth it on a 15/16 year old car?

think its a bleed valve so you can run higher boost, not 100% sure but someone will say if i'm wrong.

Type of bleed valve. If set up properly is safe (with the PP chip as it raises boost cut). STI intercooler is better that the slanty rubbish that Subaru fitted to WRX as standard but is still supplied by the scoop on the bonnet. Apparantly at speed the air actual flows over the scoop rather than into it so starving the intercooler of cold air. This doesn't happen with a FMIC.

ESL is a re-mappable chip that sits in the ECU. A good product for the money £550 + Vat including map. I decided against this as my engine/gearbox was too old and had done too many miles to take much above the 300bhp I was aiming for.

If (when ) I want more power, it will be forged engine time and 6-speed box probably using a simtek ecu (mega bucks time!!)

Just seen your other thread. Triton set mine up too!!

How many miles had your engine and gearbox done as you decided against it?

110,000 miles. I've heard of standard engines letting go at 30,000 miles, but others have gone on to over 200,000 miles. Same with gearboxes. Thought I'd play it safe while I saved up some pennies to do the lot properly.
