As posted on another thread earlier

In a nutshell no you can plug and play as the crank and cam sensors are the opposite way round on the JDM ecu.

In regards to the key if you have the ecu mapped using ecutek its can be programmed by the mapper, does not have to be done by a dealer.

Also the JDM ecu is mapped for a completely different spec and runs much more aggressive timing. Best option would be to stick with what you have and get it mapped.

The plugs are the same shape but as Banny says, you need to swap some of the wires around in the pins even to make it start.

but the key needs reprogramming. is this a main dealer only task or can someone else do it?
You've got completely the wrong end of the stick on this, the car isn't starting because of the key being wrong, the JDM ECUs aren't actually immobiliser aware. It's not starting because of the pinout issue as mentioned above. However, even if you made the changes necessary to get it to start, your car would run like sh*t on this ECU, for the reasons already given. If the intent in obtaining this was to get more power, it doesn't work that way.

If you want a plug-in power boost for a 99-00 UK car, the PPP ECU is the way to go. Either that or a proper custom remap.
