Default ecu from ecutek?

This is probably a stupid question but when i changed my ecu for one that was PP chipped.

The ecu i took out of the car had a ecutek card on it, does this mean my original ecu had been remapped at some point in its life?

Or does it mean something has been done to it?

Or does it mean nothing at all?

Maybe.

Possibly.

Or does it mean nothing at all?
Good question.

I've got an EcuTeK'd ECU and there was no fiddling with the ECU itself just reflashed via the OBD II port.

Why would anyone take the ECU case apart for an EcuTeK remap........AFAIK EcuTeK never made daughterboards or chips so this is a bit of a mystery to me ?

Pics ......

I've broken all my cameras so can't really get a picture anytime soon.

How on earth do you expect us to know? It's your ECU, not ours.

The point of my somewhat tongue in cheek original post was that there's no way any of us could possibly answer your question given the information you provided. On that level it was a stupid question - you may as well have asked us what the weather would be like in Paris on June 30th 2015 - we'd have as much chance of giving you the correct answer.

This "card" you're on about. Are you talking about a sticker or business card stuck to the case of the ECU, a daughterboard connected to the main PCB, or what? If you're going to ask questions, at least give us something sensible to go on.

Edited to add: Just seen from one of your other posts that your car is an MY1996 model. If this is the case then the one thing we know for a fact is that your old ECU isn't EcuTeKed.
