need some help, looking at getting a new short motor for my my98 uk car, block is a cdb, how big a job is it to swop all the needed bits over from my uk engine to get the thing in the car and running and what would i be needing to buy like gaskets etc, is it likey to be a costly and complicated job, do things like the modine and water pump come as part of the short motor, excuse me if some questions appear stupid but still learning about all this.

u seem to be condsidering some thing like i am doin, i am buildin my engine from ground up. u can get some good workshop cd's of ebay mine was very extensive, anyhow

a short motor bought will usually consist of a crank, rods, pistons, block, oil sump+ pickup and various seals

u normally have pay extra for uprated internals, thats why i decided to build my own from scratch.

If you read the ad, it's had the crank re-ground! not something I would do.
