Default Help Identify My VF28!

Hi guys, I have this VF28 and it is in really good condition to fit on my MY99. No play in the shaft etc. Now can someone shed some light on the pipes for me? In the pictures below can you identify them for me, I think I know but I just need to be sure, oil in/out and water in/out. Also with the exception of the banjo bolt which has the restrictor in, have I got all the pipes I need? I think I can use the water pipes from my TD04?

Martin.

The orientation of the pipework is exactly as per the TD04 you're taking off. Oil supply goes in to the top of the cartridge, oil return out the bottom. Coolant supply is the lower banjo on the side, return the upper one. You will be able to use your TD04 pipes but you'll have to split them in the middle. If the VF has a good set why not use those?

Does this turbo have an oil supply line on it? Can't see one in the photos.

Also note my reply to your post elsewhere about the lower banjo bolt.

Hi Splitpin, yes I did read your reply and thank you for your help. Everything I have is in the picture, I bought this from a member on here and he said everything I needed, except the banjo, was there? If I need to get an oil supply pipe, where can I find one? Thanks for your help again.

Maybe it's there but not visible in the photos - there is a lot of shadow. You should see the oil line connected via a banjo bolt into the top of the cartridge, and then running down past the wastegate actuator and the water return pipe. Look on the turbo in your car and you'll see what I'm on about.

If it isn't there, try the usual APi/Grade A/etc suspects; any VF one should fit.

"The bit in the middle" that all the pipes are connected to (and which carries the bearings). Often called the centre housing.

Ok, quick update, its not there! Just a nut I will get in touch with the original seller and see if he has it. If not I have found this

Turbo Oil Feed Line Kit EJ20 / EJ25 SUBARU VF34 TD04L Scooby Subaru Impreza Turbo Parts STi WRX Lancer EVO Manifolds Turbo Intercoolers - Flat4online.co.uk

Will this do? Also, is it then just a case of getting the up pipe/downpipe gaskets and that's it?

Thanks again

Take it you haven't seen any mention of Flat Four Online elsewhere on these pages?

Suffice to say if you want to fit your turbo anytime soon, buying elsewhere might be a better bet.

Ha, I see. I will have a look around. As for fitting soon, this side of Christmas would be good! It just seems to be one thing after another at the moment

Ok, I have spoken to the original seller and he has not got the original oil supply pipe. He spoke to his mechanic who rebuilt his engine and he has told me to use the pipe from my TD04 and I assume I am expected to change the banjos when I do this. Is this even possible?

Martin.
