Default Knock and Oxygen Sensor Fault

Help Please!

The check engine light has been coming on intermittently on MY99 Impreza which is pretty standard apart from Prodrive ECU and jasma system and backbox.

I have checked the fault codes and they read

No. 22 : Knocksensor.
and
No. 32 : Oxygen Sensor / AF sensor system

(think oxygen sensor = Lamba sensor?)

Should i be worried??

Could the two be connected or could one be an old fault.

Any advise how to remedy these, just replacing sensors, checking/cleaning connections etc?

Any idea of the cost of these sensors.

Its may also be worth mentioning that i have recently noticed a tapping noise, its not that loud at all and can only really be heard with the passanger window down when your are driving past walls at the side of the road etc, which bounces the sound back.
(A bit like the noise you get when a brick is stuck in the tyre.)

Your advice appreciated
Lee

Firstly reset the ECU, this will clear any old/stored faults.

Lambda about £40-£50

Not sure on the KS

Thanks for the reply,

Have reset ECU which seems to have cleared knock sensor fault.
But
Lamdba fault is still showing.

Suppose next job will be to change Lamdba and see if it clears.

Can you advise where to get a new one that will be a direct replacement and reliable rather than paying main dealer prices.

Not sure which sensor your MY99 uses, my old '93 has the 3 wire zirconia type. The Bosch ones on here are the job

Just Lambda, Subaru lambda sensors, Bosch and NTK zirconia and titania sensors by post
