Where is the best place to buy Methanol ?
I am thinking of gettting the car mapped with say a 10% methanol added.
Is there any advice you can give me on using meth?
Am i right in thinking you can get a map with and without meth, switchable?
Also where would be the best place to buy it from?
Cheers

Jennychem will sell 25 L containers or 210 L barrels, delivered.
Switchable map availability depends on your ECU... Simtek, Motec, Solaris will all have 2 or more maps.
Methanol will definitely improve performance, as it allows you to run more timing etc. Makes a big difference on my car :-)

Methanol is very hydroscopic (absorbs moisture) so cheap stuff may have a certain amount of water content. It's also accumulative and if absorbed through your skin (which it does!) will build up within your system, so handle with care.
I used to use a fair amount of this in my R/C model flying days.

Yes, be careful where you buy this stuff to make sure it's not the industrial grade that's used for cleaning purposes.

I use it in a low 6 sec Pro Mod and we have fuel checks at all FIA meetings around Europe and i have never had a falier
Water content is one of the main things thats tested,
Its sold in steel drums and in these drums it dosnt spoil,
if its decanted and stored in plastic containers it will absorb water,
some water content boosts power thats why we have strict tests every lap at some events,
jennychem is 99.8 pure methanol

Even with 15% oil content in the 2-stroke mix, I've seen rust on the crankweb of model aero engines. Maybe not so much of a problem in the full size 4-stroke.

Yes, I can see the possible advantage of a small amount of water for combustion purposes but I was more concerned with the long term corrosive effects in a road car.

when used pure as fuel we have all fittings tanks/hard lines ect hard anodised as it eats ally,
in small 10/15% amounts in petrol its not gonna hurt, i wouldnt leave it unused in the tank for ages and if the car was gonna be parked for any time id run some pure petrol through it first the water content wont be an issue unless its realy stupidly high. remember the fuel does pass through the crankcase in a two stroke so if its left for a while im sure it will rust stuff and eat pistons ect
yes iv hade some time with modle nitro engines (till i almost amputated my thumb)
