Default dodgy temperature gauge

im sure my temperature gauge is a bit dodgy like. when out and about the temperature sits perfect in the middle however when going at really low speeds like parking and just slowly moving through streets it sometime just shoots right up to the dangerzone i blast all the fans on hot in the car to try and disperse some of the heat , and then sometimes ive left the fan on that long on hot theres no heat left to blow out yet the gauge still reads hot. v strange

Most temp gauges will go up when moving slowly as there is not as much air flow to keep things cool. But if everything is working correctly it definitely shouldn't go up into the red.Have you drained and cleaned the water system lately?

not recently maybe just get a coolant change to be on the safe side, dont want to be cooking anything.

just bizzare when you take the heat away by turning the fan on it still doesnt drop
