Default alernator not charging

my alternator is charging the battery on my car however i currently have no instrument panel in the car.

so my question is does the alternator need the warning light circuit to be complete in order to charge the battery

I think someone had the same problem recently, unless the alternators are wired up to the dash I don't think I'll charge. Not guaranteed, but I think it's the cause of that problem. At a guess the alternator fields are not powered if you don't connect up all the wires and then you get no magnetic field and no charge. Thats where I'd look before buying a new alternator.
