Default standard map sensor

is the standard impreza pre96 map sensor 2bar? and im assuming then you can only run 1bar off boost via standard map sensor? and can you overcome this by running a boost controller?

if not and im totally wrong could someone give me a quick run down on how they work has im assuming negative pressure is included has well has positive pressure?

Right i ain't no expert but if you are running a standard ECU you will not be able to up the boost by more than about 0.1 bar on a MBC before the ECU cuts it.

I have a Polar Performance chip and a Dawes Device fitted and manage 17psi (c.1.2bar) on the standard MAP sensor, so it is defo good for over 1 bar.

17.2 psi is the most you can run on the pr96 map sensor, you can run more but the ecu wont "see" the boost correctly to alter the parameters of the ecu accordingly, after which you will need a facelift map sensor which wont work unless scaled correctly , if any of this makes sense.
