Default can someone help me find the service manual...

Hi, Im looking for the correct service manual/wiring diagrams for my WRX.
The build plate says it is a 98, however it has the ej205 and gearbox indicating it is a 99/00. How can this be?
The code is GC8GK8D.
Engine is EJ205NW1kd.
Google isnt helping much, all i seem to find is american 2.2 or 2.5 manuals and i dont trust them when im splicing a loom up.
Can anyone shed some light on which manual is the correct one for this car, the ECU case has code E3 on it if that helps, it has immobiliser and airbags.
Anyone with any info on these please chip in it will be much appreciated!!
thanks
Ps im in australia

No, the build plate says it's a '99.

G= MY99.

The code is GC8GK8D.
Which equals MY99. See here.

Correct manual is the MY99 turbo one. Can order it through a Subaru dealer, or at least you used to be able to. If it's an ECU loom you're working on, there are various online sources for the pin configuration, although even the "official" Subaru manual has one or two errors and omissions in it from what I recall.

thanks for clearing that up, the build plate im referring to is on the other strut tower, Its the plate australian officials put on cars to allow them on the roads, and it clearly says 8/98. thats why i was confused.
I think youre right subaru would know best when it was made haha.
So about the ommisions and errors, is that mainly due to optional equipment or the immobiliser that some had?
cheers

Ah, gotya. 8/98 would be legit for a very early MY99 car, but, as you say, it's Subaru who'd have the the best idea.

The one that springs to mind is that the select monitor data line is listed incorrectly on the ECU connector pinout list (but shown correctly in the schematic diagram). IIRC they're listed as B136 pins 3 and 4 when in reality it's B136/13 - both directions go through the same wire.

The list shows the connection options for both the immobiliser and no-immobiliser configurations (yours should have one).

Edited to add: The P1 Supplement link in the post H&H linked to above has the 99/00 ECU pinout list, but only the "no immobiliser" layout.
