hi mate have a look at my old thred ( whats the crack on chips ) there is plenty on there to give you an idea whats out there.

i went for a polar performance (pp) chip, it was very easy to fit and im loving the extra power it has given the car

i have a full system .thats works s'steel headers and full hks 3inch(turbo back)system
and blitz sus i/kit with zerosports pipe...
and blitz boost controller running 1.5 bar
not just one r/road but two have produced more than 310bhp....!
and checked on type-r website and all the type-r owners club said about right.
remember i started with 280-300 as standard....

The 98 ecu is not mappable, and you can't chip it, it's a replacement job i'm afraid.
The only way to get the extra 40-50bhp you're after is bigger injectors, new ecu such as Apexi pfc, upgraded tmic, or fmic, etc. Lots of money!
