Default Engine Management Light On

I have recently just changed my Air Con pump, Alternator (2nd hand), pulleys, and Aux belts. Since then, the Engine Management light has gone on.

Car is running fine etc, but the light has just come on since I have done the above.

Any ideas why, or how to turn it off?

Thanks a lot
Chris

It's registered a fault, so until thats been cleared or the ECU reset, it probably won't go.
Unfortunatley, I don't think you can self diagnose a Newage like you can classics, so you will need and OBD reader, or have a garage put it on theirs.

Actually, it probably happened when I had removed the Alternator, but then turn the Ignition to 2, as I needed to push the car and the steering lock was on.
So it probably registered then, when it realised the Alternator wasn't connected.

So I will have to find some where to plug my car into reset it?

Thats probably it. If you think everything else is fine, you could leave it. On Vauxhalls and Fords, the fault codes clear after so many time of the ignition turning on an off, something like 17 times.
The only downside to that is you won't recognise a new fault if one happens.

You could go one of two ways:

1: Pay garage to plug it in, 15-20quid.
2: Buy your own OBD plug to use on your own car/s 30-50 quid.

Actually just thought of a 3rd: Find a freindly Scoobynetter with one, who'll plug it in for free

Did you switch the ignition on when something was disconnected?

Edited to say that you beat me to it!

Just been informed my local garage who I use has a Snap On Diagnostic tool which will clear it, so will cost me next to nothing to get it sorted.

Thanks for the help!
