3 port boost solenoid
Hello
I need to replace my boost solenoid, I currently have a two port (standard one) if i'm going to buy on should I get a three port one? will there be any benefit? and if I did where would I attach the extra port to?
Thanks
Steve

3 port controls the boost better and stops any major boost spikes which can lead to fuel cut etc and your face in the steering wheel
Replaced mine when I had my second remap which is probably the best time I would assume
If you engines coming out then I would recommend it.

i dont know what the benifits would be, but mine is piped up as so,
the very top pipe from map sensor is to inlet manifold
top pipe on boost sellunoid is to compressor housing
middle pipe on boost sellunoid to actuator
bottom pipe on boost sellunoid to air box/filter, this pipe has the restrictor pill in it.

a 3 port will give better boost control over the 2, it also helps to hold max boost a wee touch longer.
The Perrin EBCS can be set the same as your 2 port so no remap is needed and you still get benefits. It can also be fitted as a fast response setup. This requires the restrictor to be removed and a remap.
£75 for TSL iirc
Not all 3 ports use 3 points for boost control, most only use 2. They have 3 ports but different ports are used for different setups.
