Default ECU help

Hello people I was just wondering if anyone knows what the best ECU is to upgrade to! I have a 1995 jdm type ra!

Can you use any type or can you chop and change!

I took a trip up to jap performance parts and they have a few ecu for various imprezas. Can you map a standard? Is there a favourable ECU to go for?

Just looking for a wide range of ideas from everyone! So i can make the right decision!

Thank you for your input

Why no more than 15psi?
Depends how much money you want you spend really.
This guy does all or nearly all the ecus for subarus and has a very good reputation

not sure if you can get 350bhp from 1 bar boost though.
although depending on what ecu you get some do have the ability for dual maps (simtek is one of them) so you can a mans map and a womans map

I like the idea of that! Looking a over a grand for that though, I guess?

I wasnt talking about hitting 350 straight away!! Should explain my intetions a bit better!
I would hope for 340-350 eventually! Building up to that. Then maybe a rebuild!
Im trying to expand my knowledge of scoobs. I wouldnt mind spending a few grand in a year or so on a new age sti!! Im just interested in the ins and outs of the cars!
