Default Fast Air Noise

I have searched but to no avail

I have a MY00 Classic and when driving at speeds over say 40mph there is a loud whooshing/fast air noise coming from the drivers side cabin air vent. As if the blowers are on full speed but only from that vent.

I have only had the car a few weeks so am not sure if this is a common problem or not.

Have a look behind the plastic scuttle cover at the bottom of the wind screen, the one the wipers come through, to see if it full of crap.

Or pop out the defuser to see if they are seated in the pipe work properly.

all seems fine except the scuttle cover is missing a couple of fastners from each end, not sure that this would cause the noise.
