I have an MY99 with PPP and have fitted a Decat frontpipe I have been told i may damage the engine through detonation as the PPP map is unsuitable for a full decat.

Just about every impreza with PPP for sale has a full decat fitted

You will need to have the map tweeked now you have removed the cat as your lambda readings have changed. The ppp is a performance upgrade to release power and efficiency from your engine. The de cat will have un balanced that. Other cars with ppp and de cats should of had this tweek already as it is highly advisable. Det is not good and worse case is a dead engine.

Thanks for your help mate, Is it best to sell the PPP ecu and map a standard one or as you say Tweak the PPP ecu map

Honestly, I couldn't say I'm sure some one here can answer that, remapping is not my strongest subject. It all depends on who can map a ppp ecu, I know some mapping companies lock the map. There are several mappers on the site I'm sure one of them could help you out. Either way I would be a bit careful with driving until your sorted.

The only way to map a 99 and 00 ecu is with ecutek, it cant be locked, any ecutek dealer can map it.
Yes you will do better to sell the ppp ecu and map a standard one.
You may even find someone wanting to swap + cash etc.
No there is no immobiliser issue.
I stock recon ecus (new processor) 100+vat from ecutek if you wanted to get it mapped up and keep or sell the ppp after.
