Default How do I fit a coolant sensor?

I am trying to ssort my cold starting problem out and have obtained a coolant sensor to try out as I'm told this is a common problem for cold starts. Problem is i have absolutely no idea where it goes. Is it easy to fit or would it be a good idea to get a professional to fit it??

easy enough job to do yourself.

hard to explain where it is as such, its on the left hand side as you look into the engine bay, under the inlet manifold on the alloy water pipe,it has a plug going into it if i remeber right as the other sensor has 1 wire on it which is your dash temp reading dial sensor

hope it makes some sense

Depends on which the year of car. Early car is more of a pig, due to the location of the sensor.

Also, there are two different sensors, the plugs are different on earlier cars, not sure about newage, but, would assume they are the same as a late classic.

Early crossover pipe, the coolant temp sensor is the larger of the two, and sits under the manifold pointing to the rear of the car. Which makes it a bit of a pig to change.
