Question Valvoline 5W 30 Oil...

I recently went to Euro Car Parts in Wembley and noticed this oil on the shelf... Valvoline fully synthetic 5W 30.
As far as I recal, isnt 5W 30 what Subaru main dealers recommend?

There's 3 different versions I noticed:

Valvoline Power - £29
Valvoline Power ENV C2 - £42
Valvoline Power MST - £43

All the above are 4ltrs plus they do 1ltr of each for around £10.

My question is, is this oil any good and if so which is the best for the Subaru engine?

fully synthetic 5W 30 is what Subaru say for mine (2006 STI) so im sure its ok, I do think there are better quality oils available tho. Check Opie oils web site enter your cars details , they have all the best ones at good prices as well

Excellent thanks Does look like a very wide variety of oils at decent prices... and if I recal, the guy does group discount/club discounts on here too

DO NOT USE on classics (as stated in your handbook), you can on new age but even then I would think twice about it.

10W40, 10W50, 10W60 or 15W50 fully synthetic in a classic, go for Millers, silkolene, Motul or castrol...

I run Millers 10W40 CFS oil in mine

5/40 or 10/40 for a classic I believe. Shell Helix Ultra 5/40 was the original recommended oil at service time.
